In July 2007, Oak Heights Estate Winery officially opened its doors to the consuming public. Located in Northumberland County, just over an hour from Toronto, Oak Heights is the first and only winery in the County.
With a growing list of well-regarded wines, the challenge was to attract customers to the winery. Riverhorse was retained to guide the development of a brand strategy that would position Oak Heights as a premier boutique winery.
During the course of the next four months, we developed a solid brand foundation and created a positioning line that captured the essence of Oak Heights: Experience.
What importance does Ian Fraser, founder and owner of Oak Heights, attach to the branding effort spearheaded by Riverhorse Brand Advisors? “To me, the brand is everything. Get it right, and you’ve created an operation that will continue to thrive and grow for many, many years to come. Fail to take it seriously and just watch how quickly things can turn. It’s all about engaging staff who, in turn, are able to engage customers and ensure that each and every one feels they have had an experience worth sharing. We’ve still got some bugs to iron out, but Riverhorse and the Branding Team have provided a firm foundation on which to build our entire operation going forward.”
