Alex Gill, Mendicant Group

Alex is a Principal at Mendicant Group, a consultancy serving nonprofits and socially conscious businesses. Formerly a Vice-President of Marketing and Communications at the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy (now Imagine Canada), he has spent more than 12 years in the nonprofit sector serving as communications director for ACTRA Toronto Performers, and Director of Public Affairs – and interim CEO – of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.

In addition to an MA in Communications, Alex holds postgraduate certificates from the Rotman School of Management and Schulich School of Business. He holds an appointment in the Graduate School of the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University, occasionally lecturing in the areas of corporate citizenship, social marketing, nonprofit management and government relations..

Alex has collaborated with Chris Ward and Riverhorse Brand Advisors on a number of projects, most notably on the development of RaiseReady, an innovative approach to ensuring that a charity has laid the groundwork for more effective fundraising efforts.
